Branching Out

Cathy Hamel, Executive Director, Gilchrist Hospice Care

You may have noticed that our website has a new and improved look – one that comes with more detailed information on easy-to-access pages, as well as new features designed to provide you with a more in-depth look at Gilchrist Hospice Care.

Among the changes to the site are this new blog, which will cover all aspects of the services and the care we provide. We have assembled an amazing team of contributors – the staff members, administrators and volunteers whose work is so vital to our efforts to provide the finest in end of life care. Each of them will share their stories, as well as their insights and ideas with you: our friends and followers.

It is our goal to provide you with comprehensive and inspiring information about issues that are important to our efforts to provide specialized hospice care and bereavement support, as well as the latest news about hospice, our work in the community, Gilchrist events and programs and ways to contribute.

Over the past 17 years, our commitment to providing the highest-quality, compassionate care for terminally-ill patients and their loved ones in Central Maryland has resulted in our well-deserved reputation as one of the best hospice organizations in the country. Our extraordinary staff of professionals and volunteers is dedicated to profoundly enhancing the end of life for any patient facing a life-limiting illness, regardless of ability to pay.

We are excited about the new possibilities this blog brings in our efforts to provide our online community with the best and most timely information about hospice care and we welcome your thoughts and ideas. Please feel free to comment on our posts; we only ask that your comments and questions remain respectful and in good taste – and with an eye toward the privacy rights of our patients. Please do not identify individual patients or details that would help others identify them in your comments. For additional guidelines, please read the Gilchrist Blog Terms of Use.
