Catherine Hamel, President & CEO,
Gilchrist Hospice Care

We would like to recognize and thank all the dedicated staff and volunteers at Gilchrist Hospice Care for their commitment to providing the finest care through the end of life. We would also like to recognize and thank all of you, our dedicated and supportive community, for helping Gilchrist become who we are today.

We have grown significantly over the years. We now operate a Geriatric practice specializing in the care of older adults with advanced illnesses, Gilchrist Greater Living; a Palliative Care program that operates at GBMC and Howard County General Hospital; a program to support those not yet eligible for hospice, called Transitions ; a pediatric hospice program, Gilchrist Kids, that has continued to expand and has now established an almost state-wide network for terminally ill children; and finally, our adult program has two world-class inpatient units – Gilchrist Center Towson and Gilchrist Center Howard County, and we continue to provide supportive services through our volunteers to enrich the care we provide each day with Music Therapy, Reiki, our Doula program and so much more.
We would also like to announce that we have joined forces with Joseph Richey Hospice and are now working together to offer expert inpatient hospice care for terminally ill individuals in Baltimore City at Gilchrist Center Baltimore – Joseph Richey House.
Thank you again to our dedicated community, staff and volunteers. We also thank hospice and palliative care workers around the nation for your passion helping terminally ill patients and their loved ones.
Sincerely,
Cathy Hamel
